Review: HQST 200 Watt Monocrystalline Solar Panel Kit

While searching for solar for my truck camper I did a little research and to my amazement I found that the HQST and the Renogy 100 watt panels were the exact same panels. However the cost difference was much different. I was looking at purchasing the 200 watt kit. The HQST kit cost was $269.99 at my time of purchase. ( At time of writing review the kit is $234.99 now) and includes two 100W 12V monocrystalline solar panel, a 30A PWM LCD charge controller, a pair of 20 ft 12 AWG adaptor cables, two sets of Z-brackets, and all necessary mounting hardware. With the 30A PWM charge controller, you can expand your system up to a maximum of 400W.

Warranty: Panels, 5 years material and workmanship warranty and 25 years power output warranty; Accessories, 1 year material & workmanship warranty.

The same similar kit from Renogy will cost you $318.48. However I did find one difference that might matter to some. When calling the HQST service number included with the package I got a number not in service message. Which I found rather strange.

I am very pleased with the performance of this kit and installation was quite simple. However for someone who might feel intimidated with the installation might find the not in service number frustrating. Below is the information on this kit.
