The Davy Crockett model is the ultimate portable grill. It comes with a digital WiFi controller (control and monitor through our iOS or Android mobile application), a meat probe, a peaked lid for rib racks, a convenience tray with utensil hooks, and Sense-Mate, a thermal sensor which constantly monitors grill temperature. The grill can run on 12V or 120AC so it’s perfect for home or camping, tailgating, hunting, house-boating, music festivals or anywhere you can take it! The Davy Crockett weighs 68 pounds and features fold-able legs so that it can be easily placed in the trunk of any car. Open flame technology grease trays are optional and can be purchased in our parts section.

Grill Functionality:
A motor turns the auger which feeds pellets into the firebox. There, a hot rod automatically ignites the pellets, and a combustion fan below keeps them burning. Vents vertically line the inside of the Firebox creating the ultimate wood burning fire, circulating pure hardwood smoke flavor.
Our Thoughts:
This grill comes packaged very well. Setup was pretty simple because they even supply the tool needed. The handles fold down to become the legs and it is suggested to have a friend help with standing it up as it is awkward for one person. I do wish the handles/legs were adjustable. The first burn is required to burn off any manufacture residue which is to be expected and was quite simple. They even supply the pellets for that!
The app was a bit complicated at first because being a man the directions weren’t read. But after reading and understanding we were able to get it set up quite easy.
I had never cooked on a pellet grill, I have always used charcoal smokers so I was a bit excited to try this. I have learned over my many years of cooking that in the beginning always start with something cheap for the learning curve. I was truly shocked at the amount of smoke this little grill puts out. This is my first pellet grill so I really have nothing to compare it to. Hopefully I will get to try others.
The app makes it easy to continue your day and yet still be able to keep tabs on things. The app comes with some great recipes and I used those as my guidelines as far as cooking temps and times. If your looking for a great little smoker and have limited space I suggest you have a look at this smoker. It would make a great go-to grill for small families, campers, tailgaters, RVers, or anyone who wants to cook two racks of ribs or 4-6 nice steaks or a bunch of burgers.
